FAST TACTIC The FAST TACTical Integration Console (FAST TACTIC) is an environmental database system under development at JHU/APL. It includes the SOARED relational database; the associated graphical user interface; interfaces to existing submarine environmental sensors; and an interface to other submarine systems. The intent of the FAST TACTIC system is to allow an operator to locate environmental data, by geographic position or time, using a portable laptop-based system. The data may be viewed to determine its validity or usefulness and then transferred to a common environmental library or a tactical system such as a Tactical Decision Aid, Sonar, Fire Control, or Navigation. Subsequently, the data could be used for preparing plans, operating a tactical system, or for post-watch or post-mission reporting.
